Roddam & MacDonald Law Office can help you along the path of buying a home from before you sign the Agreement of Purchase and Sale until after the property ownership is transferred to you. There are various steps involved in this process, and we are here to assist you.

Before you can sell or mortgage your property it must be migrated to the Provincial Land Registration System under the provisions of the Land Registration Act of Nova Scotia. Your lawyer will work with you to complete this process prior to the sale or Mortgage so that you will be ready to proceed.

If you are selling a home you will benefit from the services of our law office. We can work with your Real Estate Agent if your property is listed for sale, or if it is a private sale, we can prepare the sales contract documents for you. We will make sure at the time of sale that you receive full compensation for your fuel, prepaid taxes and water rates, and any other relevant items. We also prepare the deed and obtain any necessary discharges of the property.

It can be difficult to attend an office during working hours to sign documents if you are also working. At Roddam & MacDonald, we make ourselves available after hours for appointments if required.
